Installation Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat in the vehicle.
  2. Engage the front seat hook attachments.
  3. Connect the electrical body harness to the seat.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the bolts to the rear of the seat adjuster.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the front seat adjuster bolts to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

  5. Install the front seat adjuster track covers. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front .
  6. For the Impala, install the nut to the front seat belt bracket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

  7. Install the front seat head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat .
  8. Inspect the front seat for proper operation.
