Installation Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel filler pocket to the quarter panel.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the screws to the fuel filler pocket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fuel filler pocket screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the bolts to the fuel filler pocket at the fuel filler neck.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fuel filler pocket to fuel filler neck bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the rear bumper fascia splash shield. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement .
  5. Replace the fuel filler cap.
  6. Close the fuel filler door.
