Removal Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
  2. Support the exhaust system.
  3. Remove the exhaust pipe hanger (3) from the exhaust pipe (2) and the exhaust hanger bracket (1).

  4. Remove the exhaust pipe hanger from the exhaust pipe and the exhaust hanger bracket.

  5. Remove the exhaust pipe rear hangers from the muffler and the rear exhaust hanger brackets.
