Removal Procedure

- Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to FUEL INJECTOR SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (L36) or FUEL INJECTOR SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (L67) .
- Remove the left and the right engine mount struts. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - LEFT and ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT .
- Remove the exhaust crossover pipe from the left exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.1L)Β or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (3.8L)Β .
- Remove the left spark plug wires from the left spark plugs. Refer to
- Remove the oil level indicator tube. Refer to OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AND TUBE REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the left engine lift bracket bolt, nut and the engine lift bracket from the left exhaust manifold.
- Remove the left exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
- Remove the left exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Remove the left exhaust manifold retaining bolts, nuts and studs from the left exhaust manifold.
- Remove the left exhaust manifold.
- Remove the left exhaust manifold gasket.
