Installation Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat back to the front seat.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the recliner to seat frame pivot bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the recliner to seat frame pivot bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the new roll pins to the hinge supports and recliner.
  4. Fasten the J-retainer on the outboard side of the seat cushion cover.
  5. Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
  6. Install the front seat trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - FRONT SEAT  .
  7. Install the front seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUCKET  .
