Installation Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Align the rear bumper impact bar to the vehicle.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolts to the rear bumper impact bar.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear bumper impact bar bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear bumper energy absorber. Refer to ENERGY ABSORBER REPLACEMENT - REAR  .
  4. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to FASCIA REPLACEMENT - REAR BUMPER  .
