1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
- 2. This DTC will set when there is a short to ground in the SECURITY indicator control circuit. Diagnose DTC B0687 if set as a current code before diagnosing DTC B0689.
- 3. Verifies the condition for setting the DTC is current.
- 5. Checks for an open in the security indicator control circuit or for a faulty theft deterrent control module module.
- 6. Checks for an open bulb filament.
