Removal Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR in Engine Performance - Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the left engine mount strut from the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - LEFT .

  4. Remove the left engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  5. Remove the left engine mount strut bracket from the cylinder head.
