Removal Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the right side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Fig 1: Blower Motor & Electrical Connector

  3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the blower motor mounting screws.
  5. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC module assembly.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor assembly.
  8. IMPORTANT: Only loosen both of the forward blower resistor assembly mounting screws. The blower motor resistor assembly mounting holes are slotted.
  9. Loosen the forward blower resistor assembly mounting screws.
  10. Remove the rearward blower resistor assembly mounting screw.

  12. Remove the blower motor resistor assembly from the HVAC module assembly.
