Installation Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ball joint to the lower control arm.

  3. Install the new ball joint bolts facing downward, away from the ball stud.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the new ball joint retaining nuts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the ball joint retaining nuts to 68 N.m (50 lb ft).

  6. Install the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm ReplacementΒ .
  7. Install the tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Align the front suspension. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment in Wheel Alignment.
