Installation Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: The hood latch release cable must be connected to the hood latch support bracket.
  1. Install the hood latch release cable to the hood latch.

  2. Align the hood latch to the marks on the hood latch support bracket.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the nuts to the hood latch.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the hood latch nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  4. Adjust the hood, if required. Refer to Hood AdjustmentΒ .
  5. Close the hood.
