  1. Open and support the hood.
  2. Remove the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (GMC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (CHEVROLET) in Exterior Trim.
  3. Remove the primary latch assembly. Refer to HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT - PRIMARYΒ .
  4. Remove the bolts that retain the primary hood latch support bracket to the radiator support.
  5. Remove the primary hood latch support from the vehicle.

  6. Mark the position of the nuts that retain the latch mounting bracket to the support bracket.
  7. Remove the primary latch mounting bracket from the support bracket bolts.
