- Raise and support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the shock absorber upper mounting nut. Hold the shock absorber stem with a wrench while backing the nut off.
- Remove the retainer.
- Remove the grommet.
- Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolts.
- 5.1 Pull the shock absorber out of the spring from below.
- 5.2 The lower grommet and the retainer are on the stem.
- 5.3 Replace the parts as necessary.
- Remove the nuts, if damaged or worn.
