Removal Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Mark the hood latch to the hood latch support bracket with an grease pencil.
  3. Remove the bolts from the hood latch.

  5. Remove the hood latch from the hood latch support bracket.

    Important:Β  Do not crimp the hood latch release cable.

  6. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the cable retainer and position aside.

  8. Remove the hood latch from the vehicle.
