Removal Procedure

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  2. Suitably support the exhaust system.
  3. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (3.1 L)Β  or Catalytic Converter Replacement (3.8L)Β

  4. Remove the oxygen sensor wiring harness (3) from the catalytic converter heat shield.

  5. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield pop rivets.
  6. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield.
