Surge Tank: Installation

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Installation

  1. Connect coolant level switch to engine harness.
  2. Install return hose and clamp (7 o'clock position).
  3. Install surge tank by inserting surge tank retention tab into upper motor rail while lowering tank into place. Install tank to upper motor rail bolts.
  4. Install cylinder head degas hose and clamp.
  5. Connect negative battery cable.

    Torque:Β 

    Battry Terminal Bolt: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)Β 

  6. Fill cooling system. (Refer to "Coolant Replacement" in this section of the service manual.)
