- Turn ignition off. Loosen battery hold down cover screws and remove battery cover. Disconnect Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) solenoid harness connector. Remove vacuum hose from bank 2 intake manifold runner diaphragm. Bank 1 are cylinders No. 1, 3 and 5 which are closest to the front of the dash.
- Remove clamp from power brake booster vacuum hose at intake manifold and remove vacuum hose. Remove IMRC solenoid attachment screw. See Figure . Remove both vacuum lines from IMRC solenoid and remove IMRC solenoid.
