Secondary Air Injection Shut-Off Valve: Installation

  1. Connect the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve with a NEW gasket to the bank 1 AIR outlet pipe. Install the three bolts securing the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve to the engine. Tighten the three bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
  2. Install the vacuum lines. Reconnect the bank 1 AIR intermediate pipe/hose and clamp to the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve. Raise and support the vehicle. Install the 2 nuts securing the bank 1 AIR outlet pipe to the exhaust manifold. Tighten the 2 nuts to specification. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Install the bank 2 AIR shut-off valve and NEW gasket to the bank 2 outlet pipe. Install the 2 nuts securing the shut-off valve to the bracket. Tighten the nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
  2. Install the bank 2 intermediate pipe/hose and clamp to the shut-off valve. Install the vacuum lines. Install the air cleaner assembly.
