Control Valve Body Cover: Removal

1999 GMC Forward Control 5.7 R, AutomaticSECTION Removal

  1. Remove battery cover. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Loosen battery hold-down screw and remove battery. See Figure .
  2. Remove battery cooling box. See BATTERY COOLING BOXΒ  .
  3. Loosen battery tray bracket screws and remove bracket. See Figure .
  4. Disconnect transaxle harness connector. See Fig 1 .
  5. Remove transaxle vent cap.
  6. Remove bolts from control valve body cover. Remove control valve body cover.
  7. Remove control valve body cover gasket and discard. See Fig 2 .
