DTC U1161-U1163 Or U1170: Driver Door Module Communication Malfunction: Description
Power door serial data circuit provides a means for information exchange among vehicle door modules. Door module information on inputs and commanded outputs is converted to serial data and sent out on power door serial data line for exchange among door modules. Driver Door Module (DDM) also communicates with other vehicle modules through Class 2 serial data circuit and sends Class 2 serial data information and relays through power door serial data line, to other door modules. Vehicle power mode message (ignition switch position) from Dash Integration Module (DIM) is an example of Class 2 communications between DDM and other vehicle modules. DDM periodically addresses each door module on power door serial data circuit. A current DTC will clear when a response message from failed door module is detected or at end of current ignition cycle. A history DTC will clear upon receipt of a scan tool clear DTCs command, or after 50 OFF/RUN ignition switch cycles, without a repeat of communications failure. Following are DTC definitions:
