CAUTION: Allow sufficient clearance around the transaxle oil cooler pipes and around the hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.
  1. Position the lower transaxle oil cooler pipe into the engine compartment. Connect the lower transaxle oil cooler pipe to the radiator. See Figure .
NOTE: Ensure the lower transaxle oil cooler pipe is positioned upwards while tightening.
  2. Tighten the transaxle oil cooler pipe fitting to specification. See Figure . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  3. Push the transaxle oil cooler pipe into the transaxle quick connect fitting, until a "CLICK" is heard. Tug gently on the cooler pipe to ensure proper retention. Slide the plastic cap over the quick connect fitting.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Position the upper transaxle oil cooler pipe up into the engine compartment. See Figure . Install the upper transaxle oil cooler pipe wire retainers to the transaxle. Install the upper transaxle oil cooler pipe at the rear of the transaxle. Tighten the transaxle oil cooler pipe fitting to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  5. Push the transaxle oil cooler pipe into the transaxle quick connect fitting, until a "CLICK" is heard. Tug gently on the cooler pipe to ensure proper retention. Slide the plastic cap over the quick connect fitting.
  6. Install the rear exhaust manifold pipe. Lower the vehicle. Push the upper transaxle oil cooler pipe into the radiator quick connect fitting, until a "CLICK" is heard.
  7. Tug gently on the cooler pipe to ensure proper retention. Slide the plastic cap over the quick connect joint. See Fig 1 . Install the upper transaxle oil cooler pipe retaining bolt to the fan shroud. See Figure . Tighten the transaxle oil cooler pipe retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
NOTE: Do not overfill the transaxle. Overfilling of the transaxle causes foaming, loss of fluid, shift complaints, and possible damage to the transaxle.
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Install the upper filler panel. See Figure . Fill transaxle with appropriate fluid to proper level. See LUBRICATIONΒ  . Inspect for fluid leaks.
