Circuit Description
The Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine during a given time. PCM uses MAF sensor information to monitor EGR flow rates. A large quantity of air entering the engine indicates acceleration, high load situation or no EGR flow, while a small quantity of air entering the engine indicates deceleration, idle or full EGR operation. PCM uses MAF sensor and EGR control pressure/BARO sensor to determine an intake leak.
DTC will set when the following conditions are present:
- BARO reading at greater than or equal to 75 kPa.
- DTCs P0405, P0406, P0102 and P0103 are not set.
- All EGR tests have been completed (internal to PCM).
- Intake leak greater than calibrated value (internal to PCM).
- Conditions are met for 2 seconds.
