  1. Ignition OFF. Disconnect PCM connectors. Ignition ON. MIL (Service Engine Soon) should be OFF. If MIL is not OFF repair the short to ground in circuit 419 or faulty IPC. If MIL is OFF go to step 2).
  2. Check PROM for proper installation. If OK, replace PCM using original PROM. Ignition OFF, install Tech 1. Reconnect PCM and turn ignition ON. Select MISC. TESTS, DASH LAMPS with TECH 1 and turn MIL OFF. MIL (Service Engine Soon) should turn OFF. If MIL is OFF the system is OK. If MIL is ON replace PROM.
