  1. Wash case and all internal parts in solvent and dry with compressed air. Check all parts for damage or excessive wear. Check bearings and synchronizers for rough operation. File off any burrs on mating surfaces. Replace damaged parts as necessary.
  2. Check reverse idler gear bearing bushing for wear. Clearance between bushing and shaft should be at most .004" (.10 mm). If clearance is not as specified, install NEW bushing and gear assembly.
