Axle Ratio & Identification
Steel cover plate has unique shape which allows positive identification of Spicer (Dana) axles on any model vehicle. Axle model can also be determined by measuring diameter of ring gear. Refer to the MODEL IDENTIFICATION BY RING GEAR SIZEΒ table.
Metal tag, stamped with gear ratio, part numbers and limited slip identification, is held to housing by cover bolt. To determine drive axle ratio, see MODEL IDENTIFICATION BY RING GEAR SIZEΒ table.

When to See a Mechanic
