- Install timing light with an adapter between No. 1 spark plug and No. 1 spark plug wire, or use an inductive type pickup. DO NOTΒ puncture wire. Disconnect 4-wire connector coming out of the distributor.
- Check or adjust ignition timing with engine at normal operating temperature and automatic transmission in "D" (if equipped). See Figure . Reconnect 4-wire connector. Clear trouble codes by removing ECM power fuse for 10 seconds.
