1984 GMC Suburban K2500, 6.2 J, 475/M40SECTION Engine Identification

Engine can be identified by the eighth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) which is stamped on a tag at the top left corner of dashboard. The 6.2L engine is also identified by code letters located on a label at rear of left valve cover and stamped into block on left front corner.
