DTC DESCRIPTION P208E (PCM) - REDUCTANT INJECTION VALVE STUCK CLOSED (BANK 1 UNIT 1)

Description:  The PCM monitors reductant injector needle movement by monitoring the amount of current necessary to fire the injector solenoid. When the needle has reached its upper limit, the current ripples. If this ripple does not occur, the injector needle is stuck. The PCM then sets this DTC and shuts down the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system until the next key cycle.
Possible Causes:
  • Damaged reductant injector
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
