  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    BCM U3000:49 Control Module: Internal Electronic Failure This DTC sets when the BCM detects an internal failure.

    Possible Sources 

    • BCM

  2. U1 CONFIRM THE DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) RESETS

    • Check vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the BCM.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using the diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC.

    • Wait 10 seconds.

    • Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Is DTC U3000:49 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  U2
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been falsely set by the BCM causing the signal to momentarily stop and set the DTC.
  3. U2 INSTALL BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) PMI (PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTCs.

    • Following scan tool instructions, INSTALL BCM As-Built data from PTS.

    Is DTC U3000:49 still present? 

    Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time.
