  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

    Possible Sources 

    • Dirty or cracked windshield
    • Dirt or debris in between the camera and the windshield
    • Camera windshield defrost heater

  2. BT1 CHECK WINDSHIELD FOR DIRT AND CRACK

    • Inspect the windshield in front of the camera for dirt and crack.

    Is an observable concern present? 

    Yes  CLEAN the dirty area. If windshield is found cracked, INSTALL new as necessary. REFER to: Fixed Glass .
    No  GO to  BT2
  3. BT2 CHECK FOR DIRT BETWEEN CAMERA AND WINDSHIELD

    • Inspect the area between the IPMA camera and the windshield.

    Is any dirt an debris present? 

    Yes  CLEAN the area between the IPMA camera and the windshield.
    No  GO to  BT3
  4. BT3 CHECK CAMERA WINDSHIELD DEFROST HEATER

    • Inspect the camera windshield defrost heater for damage.

    Is an observable concern present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE any IPMA heater Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that are present.
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time.
