Failure Action
02 This DTC is informational only and is used in the factory for system check at the end of assembly. SET the ignition to ON and, using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SASM Module Reset routine. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SECM DTCs. SET the ignition to OFF and then START the engine and WAIT at least 20 seconds for the SECM to wake up and test the adaptive steering system. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SECM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new SASM-clockspring assembly. REFER to Supplemental Restraint System article

68 This DTC sets when the SASM receives a temperature fault from the SASM. SET the ignition to OFF and WAIT at least 5 minutes. SET the ignition to ON and, using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SASM Module Reset routine. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SECM DTCs. SET the ignition to OFF and then START the engine 68 and WAIT at least 20 seconds for the SECM to wake up and test the adaptive steering system. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SECM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new SASM-clockspring assembly. REFER to Supplemental Restraint System article

98 This DTC sets when the SASM temperature equals or exceeds 93 degrees C (199 degrees F). SET the ignition to OFF and WAIT at least 5 minutes. SET the ignition to ON and, using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SASM Module Reset routine. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SECM DTCs. SET the ignition to OFF and then START the engine and WAIT at least 20 seconds for the SECM to wake up and test the adaptive steering system. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SECM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new SASM-clockspring assembly. REFER to Supplemental Restraint System article
