P2183 - ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 2 CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE
| Description: | This DTC sets when the vehicle is driven between 800 and 2600RPM and the secondary cooling system engine coolant temperature 2 (ECT2) is greater than 20°C (68°F) below the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) outlet temperature. The time to set the DTC depends on the secondary cooling system and the intake air temperatures and can vary between 20 and 60 minutes. | ||
| Possible Causes: |
| Diagnostic Aids: | The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center. Make sure the intake air system and the secondary cooling system temperatures are similar when the engine is cold. Also make sure the secondary cooling system ECT2 sensor and the actual engine operating temperatures are the same. |
