Pinpoint Test N: An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) Transmitter

Visual Inspection and Pre-checks
- Inspect the RKE transmitter for damage
- N1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock button on a door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.
Do the door locks operate?
Yes GO to N2 No GO to Pinpoint Test J - N2 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION USING THE HORN OUTPUT (HORN) PID (PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, select the BCM
Access the BCM and control the HORN_RELAY PID on and then off.
Does the horn sound when commanded on?
Yes GO to N3 No REFER to: Horn . - N3 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION
- Activate the hazard flasher lamp function.
Do all of the turn lamps operate?
Yes GO to N4 No REFER to: Turn Signal and Hazard Lamps . - N4 REPLACE THE SUSPECT IKT (INTEGRATED KEYHEAD TRANSMITTER)
- Make sure the correct VIN was entered on the technician service publication website.
- Hover the mouse cursor over or click on the OASIS tab toward the top left corner of the screen.
- Select HVBoM (Historical Vehicle Bill of Material).
- Enter the PATS transceiver part number of "15607" (do not include quotation marks) in the "Limit to Base" field.
- Press Enter on the keyboard or click on "View BoM (Build of Material)".
- If the vehicle is equipped with a PATS, a row appears indicating "transceiver" in the DESCRIPTION column.
- If the vehicle is not equipped with a PATS, a row does not appear and the DESCRIPTION column is blank.
Is the vehicle equipped with a PATS?
Yes REPLACE the suspect IKT. PROGRAM the new IKT. REFER to: Anti-Theft Key Programming - Scan Tool . No REPLACE the suspect IKT. PROGRAM the new IKT. REFER to: Anti-Theft Key Programming - Scan Tool .
