To verify PSCM DTC U2016 is present and provide diagnostics if DTC U2016 is currently active in the PSCM.
- BO1: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine running.
Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Is DTC U2016:xx present and active in the PSCM?
Yes No INSTALL a new EPAS gear. REFER to the Power Steering article. ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.If the PSCM does not list DTC U2016, DISCONTINUE this test and REFER to the DTC Chart for direction.
