Transmission Control Module (TCM): Removal
2021 Ford Expedition Platinum, RWDSECTION Removal

NOTE:
The TCM is located on the RH frame rail.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the PMI routine. Refer to: Module Programming .
- Remove the retainers and the TCM shield.

NOTE: Keep the TCM electrical connector straight when connecting it or damage the connector terminals can occur.
- Slide the lock tab up and disconnect the TCM electrical connector.
- Detach the TCM wiring harness retainer and position aside
- Remove the nuts and the TCM.
