Intake Manifold: Removal
2021 Ford Edge SE, 4WDSECTION Removal

NOTE:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

- Remove the nut.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the engine appearance cover.
- If the engine appearance cover stud bolt is loosened or removed, it must be installed/tightened.
Torque : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Remove the upper RHCAC intake pipe. Refer to: CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC) INTAKE PIPE
- Loosen the clamps and remove the upper CAC outlet pipe.

- Disconnect the PCV tube quick release couplings and remove the tube. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector.

- Disconnect the EVAP tube quick release coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Disconnect the EVAP purge valve electrical connector.
- Lift the EVAP purge valve off of the intake manifold mounting tab.

- Disconnect the crankcase pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Detach the PCV tube retainer. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Disconnect the PCV tube quick release couplings and remove the tube. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Disconnect the vacuum tube quick release couplings and position the tube aside. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors and retainers.

- Remove the vacuum harness pressure sensor bolt.
- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connectors.
- Detach the wiring harness and vacuum harness retainers.
- Detach the wiring harness retainers.

- Slide the insulator up to access the CHT electrical connector.
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors and detach the harness and vacuum hose retainers.
- Detach the engine wiring harness and vacuum hose retainers.

- Loosen the bolts.
- Position the vacuum harness aside.
- Remove the intake manifold.
- Inspect the gaskets and replace as necessary.
