Rocker Arm RH: Installation
All rocker arms

NOTE: Lubricate the rocker arm and shaft with clean engine oil.
Slide the rocker arms on the shaft.
- Install the rocker arm shaft plates.

NOTE: The sleeves are captured on the bolts.
Using a hammer, tap the bolts to seat the sleeve in the rocker arm shaft.

- Lubricate the rocker arm shaft-to-valve tip and rocker arm-to-camshaft lobe contact area with clean engine oil prior to installation.
Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)
- Lubricate the all RH camshaft lopes with clean engine oil.
Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)
Exhaust rocker arms

NOTE: Only rotate the engine in a clockwise direction.
If needed, rotate the engine clockwise until the No. 1 cylinder camshaft exhaust lobe is positioned so the exhaust valve would be fully closed.
- Install the RH exhaust rocker arm shaft assembly and the bolts finger-tight and tighten the bolts sequence shown, in 3 stages.
Torque:
Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Stage 2: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
Stage 3: 60 °
Intake rocker arms

NOTE: Only rotate the engine in a clockwise direction.
If needed, rotate the engine clockwise until the No. 1 cylinder camshaft intake lobe is positioned at the bottom of its rotation so the intake valve would be fully closed.
- Install the RH intake rocker arm shaft assembly and the bolts finger-tight and tighten the bolts sequence shown, in 3 stages.
Torque:
Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Stage 2: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
Stage 3: 60 °
All rocker arms
- Install the RH valve cover. Refer to: Valve Cover RH .
