Instrument Panel Upper Section: Removal

2021 Ford Edge SE, 4WDSECTION Removal

  1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to: Instrument Panel .
  2. Release the clips and remove the center finish trim.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

  3. Release the clips and remove the LH center trim panel.

  4. Release the clips and remove the RH center trim panel.

  5. Remove the bolts and the FCIM.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    All vehicles 

  6. Remove the bolts and the FCIM.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  7. Release the clips and remove the speaker grille.

  8. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the rubber pad.

  9. Release the clips and remove the trim panel.

  10. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the trim panel.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  11. Remove the bolts.

    Torque

    : 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  12. NOTE: The push pin must be replaced each time the bezel is removed.

    Release the retainers and remove the LH register bezel.

    • Remove and discard the push pin.

    1. Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 36 lb.in (4.1 Nm)

    2. Separate the gap hider from the upper steering column shroud.
    3. Release the 3 clips and remove the IPC bezel.

  13. Remove the bolts and the display unit.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

      Torque

      : 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  14. NOTE: The push pin must be replaced each time the bezel is removed.

    Release the retainers and remove the RH register bezel.

    • Remove and discard the push pin.

  15. Remove the bolt and the RH register.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  16. Remove the bolts, release the clips and remove the upper stowage bin.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  17. Remove the screws through the upper stowage bin opening.

  18. Remove the bolts.

    Torque

    : 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  19. Disconnect the passenger airbag electrical connector.

  20. Remove the RH instrument panel upper section bolts.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  21. Remove the RH instrument panel upper section by lift upwards to release the clips.
