Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module: Removal

  1. NOTE: The PMI process must begin with the current ABS module installed. If the current ABS module does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the ABS module following the on-screen instructions.

  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  3. Remove and discard the ABS module screws.

    Torque

    : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  4. NOTE: The block is supplied with the ABS module service kit. Observe the markings on the block when installing the block.

    Install the block by rotating it into position underneath and behind the ABS module. Make sure the nipple on the block is inserted into the hole on the EBB housing.

  5. Using a flat bladed screwdriver between the block and the ABS module screw flange, separate and remove the ABS module.
