DTC DESCRIPTION P2A02 - O2 SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE (BANK 1 SENSOR 3)

Description:  The nitrogen oxides bank 1, sensor 3 (NOx13) module estimates the expected exhaust oxygen (O2) content during certain fuel, boost and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) conditions. This DTC sets when the actual NOx13 sensor O2 signal value is not within the expected range for a calibrated amount of time.
Possible Causes: 
  • Corrosion
  • Incorrect connections
  • Contaminated NOx13 sensor
  • Damaged NOx13 sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
