Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the BCM sends messages to the GWM over the HS-CAN1, the GWM relays these messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the module sets DTCs. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the BCM, refer to the Network Message Chart in Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.Β
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| U0140:00 | Lost Communication With Body Control Module: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the ABS module does not receive any messages from the BCM |
| U0140:87 | Lost Communication With Body Control Module: Missing Message | Sets when the ABS module is missing any of the following BCM messages: car mode, traction control status, engine off, hill launch assist status, parking brake status, trailer lamp connection status, ignition status or driver door status. |
