With the ignition ON, the FCIM sends messages to the ABS module through the GWM over the HS-CAN3. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the module sets DTCs. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the FCIM module, refer to the Network Message Chart in Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.Β

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0164:87 Lost Communication With HVAC Control Module: Missing Message This DTC sets when the ABS module does not receive the selectable drive mode messages from the HVAC module in the alloted time. This can be due to a HVAC module failure, a circuit failure on the network or an excessive load on the network.
U0424:00 Invalid Data Received From HVAC Control Module: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets in the ABS module when the auto hold switch status message of 'faulty' is received from the HVAC module.
