- Network communication concern
- Battery/charging system concern
- TBM
- ABS module
- S1: CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Press the Read Vehicle Information button to view the results of the modules communicating on the network.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Does the TBM pass the Network Test?
Yes No Go to S2. DIAGNOSE the scan tool does not communicate with the TBM. REFER to the Module Communications Network article. - S2: RECHECK FOR DTC U0137:00 AND U0137:87
Carry out the ABS self-test.
- Clear the ABS DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
Carry out the ABS self-test.
- Is DTC U0137:00, U0137:87 retrieved again?
Yes No Go to S3. The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - S3: CHECK FOR DTC U3003:16 AND U3003:17
- Review the results from the ABS module self-test.
- Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
Yes No For DTC U3003:16, Go to PINPOINT TEST A .
For DTC U3003:17, Go to PINPOINT TEST F .Go to S4. - S4: CHECK FOR TBM DTCS
Carry out the TBC self-test.
- Are any DTCs present?
Yes No DIAGNOSE the TBM DTC. REFER to the Auxiliary Brake System article. Go to S5. - S5: CHECK FOR DTC U0137:XX SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Ignition OFF.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Is DTC U0137:XX set in any other module in addition to the ABS module?
Yes No INSTALL a new TBM.
CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins TSBs.
If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions.
If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new TBM. REFER to the Auxiliary Brake System article.INSTALL a new ABS module.
CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins TSBs.
If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions.
If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.
ORDER a replacement ABS module and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.
