Fuel System Pressure Check

Check
- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .

NOTE: Wrap the fuel line connection with a shop towel to absorb any residual fuel pressure during the disconnection of the fuel line and slowly disconnect the fuel line quick connect.
Disconnect the low pressure fuel supply line quick connect coupling from the secondary fuel filter inlet.
- Install the Fuel Line Adapter and a readily available Diesel Engine Fuel Pressure Test Gauge between the low pressure fuel supply line and the secondary fuel filter inlet. Use Special Service Tool: 310-159 Fuel Line Adapter.

NOTE: It may take more than one key cycle to pressurize the fuel system.
Cycle the ignition key and wait 3 seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks before starting the engine.
- Test the fuel system pressure to make sure it is within the specified range. Refer to: Specifications .

When to See a Mechanic
