Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Removal

OEM Color Coding

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
  2. Disconnect the crankcase breather hose quick connect fitting. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

    • Detach the right wire harness retainer from the rear ignition coil on plug mounting studbolt.

    • Disconnect the right ignition coil on plug electrical connectors.

    • Disconnect the right spark plug wires from the ignition coil on plugs.

    • Detach the left wire harness retainer from the rear ignition coil on plug mounting studbolt.

    • Disconnect the left ignition coil on plug electrical connectors.

    • Disconnect the left spark plug wires from the ignition coil on plugs.

  3. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plugs and surrounding area before removing.
