Transfer Case Shift Lever: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Position the transfer case shift lever in neutral.

  3. Remove the transfer case shift lever knob.

  4. Remove the shift lever trim and boot.

    • Release the shift lever trim clips.

    • Remove the shift lever trim and boot.

  5. Remove the shift lever bolts.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

    • Disconnect the shift lever cable.

    • Release the lock and position aside the shift lever cable.

  6. Remove the shift lever assembly.
