| 81 | This DTC sets when the SECM receives invalid data from the steering wheel angle quality factor or steering wheel angle integrity quality factor messages. SET the ignition to ON and, using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SASM Module Reset routine. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SECM DTCs. SET the ignition to OFF and then START the engine and WAIT at least 20 seconds for the SECM to wake up and test the adaptive steering system. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SECM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new SASM-clockspring assembly. REFER to Supplemental Restraint System article |
