P2269 - WATER IN FUEL CONDITION

Description:  This DTC sets when the PCM detects water in the fuel and the water in fuel (WIF) indicator lamp is illuminated.
Possible Causes: 
  • Water in fuel condition
  • WIF circuit short to ground
  • Damaged WIF sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Drain a fuel sample from the fuel conditioning module and inspect for water or contaminants. If no water or contaminants are in the container, check for a circuit concern.
