P204F - REDUCTANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE (BANK 1)

For Transit 
Description:  This DTC sets when the PCM detects any reductant dosage control module (RDCM) DTCs.
Possible Causes: 
  • RDCM DTCs present
Diagnostic Aids:  This DTC is informational only and may be accompanied by other DTCs. Diagnose all other PCM and RDCM DTCs first.
The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle, while carrying out the appropriate drive cycle procedure, until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.

For All Others 
Description:  The PCM monitors selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system performance by monitoring the rate of reductant flow and feedback from the nitrogen oxides bank 1, sensor 2 (NOx12). These values are compared to a calculated model. This DTC sets when the difference between the modeled and actual system performance exceeds a threshold and a restriction in the SCR system is suspect.
Possible Causes: 
  • Restricted reductant pressure line
  • Restricted reductant filter
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
