Pinpoint Tests RI: Reductant Temperature Sensor: Introduction

2019 Ford Transit-250 Base, 2D Cab Chassis, 3.2L Eng VIN VSECTION Introduction
NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

  • reductant temperature sensor
  • reductant pump assembly
  • harness circuits: RDT and SIGRTN
  • reductant dosage control module (5H298)
  • PCM (12A650)

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
